I was walking up to Lefty's the other day and chatted with some of the guys opening up new hangouts on the ever cooler corner of 30th & Upas. Matt (?) is putting in a Japanese style yakitori place where Commonwealth used to be. I'm sad to say that the amazing bar made out of pennies won't be part of the new restaurant, but he had good reason to take it out. You'll see a small momento of Leighton's bar on display at Sea Rocket.

And next to Veg-n-Out, Dash Eye & his reggae DJ crew from Tribe of Kings are opening a reggae style cafe. There will be a few things to nibble on, but it will mostly focus on coffees, teas, and other drinks. Sounds like a good place to chill on a hot summer day.
