When we first opened, we knew that focusing on the food and service at Sea Rocket was the most important thing. It took a few months (or maybe more) to really get that down. Lately, we've had the time to take the next steps in running a restaurant that is part of a healthy world by minimizing our waste through recycling and composting, and more recently, environmentally friendly cleaning products.

I started by looking at some products I've used at home, like Method and Seventh Generation, and then moved on to commercial versions of environmentally friendly cleaning products like Betco. These products are all good steps in the right direction, but left me wondering if there was anything more local, basic, or interesting.

Over the next months, we'll be experimenting with some different cleaning and other products and we'll let you know how it's going here on the blog. Up first... hippie soap!
