November Thursday Night Movies
dennis — Fri, 10/24/2008 - 23:10

We've been showing movies at Sea Rocket and it's really a blast, so join us for one of our upcoming films. Just remember, watching a free movie while you're eating dinner is a lot less expensive than going out to dinner, and then to a movie! Thanks again to Holly at Citizen Video in South Park for providing the movies. So in sticking with the food and ocean movie theme, here's what we have coming up.
L'iceberg
Thursday, October 30th, 8pm
Click on the trailer link at the right to see a preview. I can't wait to see this one! It's a Belgian film in French with English subtitles, but I've heard it's a very visually funny film. The cover says "Comedic genius, magnificently choreographed! Two thumbs up! --Ebert & Roeper".
Dinner Rush
Thursday, November 6th, 8pm
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Want to see the guy who directed Michael Jackson's music video "Beat It" capture the choreography and chaos of a busy restaurant? This is a New York gangster flick co-staring a nice Italian restaurant! Check out the trailer.
Ratatouille
Thursday, November 13th, 8pm
Sit back and watch a rat run the kitchen thanks to the magic of Pixar. A fun, light, animated film. Here's the trailer. If families are interested in bringing their kids in for an early showing, come on in at 6pm and we'll do a preview for the little ones to enjoy!
Fishing With John
Thursday, November 20th, 8pm
I'll let the words of Anders Wright, Film Editor for San Diego City Beat describe this film. "John Lurie, one of Jim Jarmusch's regulars, made this very strange show where he'd go fishing with really fascinating people to interesting places, even though none of them know anything about fishing. Folks like Matt Dillon, Willem Dafoe, Tom Waits, they all took part. It's interesting stuff, and I can tell you that no one I know of has shown anything like that in San Diego for a while." Here's the trailer.
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Thursday, November 27th, 8pm
Watch Kirk Douglas in a 1954 Disney remake of the book by French writer Jules Verne. They travel around the ocean in an electric powered submarine. Given that the original book was published in 1870, that's pretty sci-fi!
Send me an email (dennis@searocketbistro.com) if you have any movie suggestions.
