The Cooking Channel (362 on Cox) has a show called Hook, Line & Dinner, and is, as you might imagine, a show that follows seafood from the ocean to the plate (hosted by a seafood fan traveling the country on motorcycle!)  Well, one of their episodes was filmed in San Diego and features three local seafood items and how three different local restaurants use them on their menu.  Sea Rocket was one of the chosen few since we’re the only place in town that serves…?  You got it!  Fresh, local SARDINES!

The episode we’re in will air at 7:30pm Pacific time this Tuesday, July 26th.  We wanted badly to show it at the restaurant and have you all in to watch it with us, but we don’t get the channel!  Sardines, however, are always on the menu and our current preparations include things like our Grilled Sardine Street Tacos during happy hour, and our Whole Grilled Sardines which are now being served with a delicious Pickled Egg & Potato Salad that Chef Chad White just introduced along with some other summery menu changes.

Our sardines are served every night of the week, at lunch on Saturdays, and at Brunch on Sundays, so come enjoy them any time that we’re open, and know that you’re eating healthy while supporting sustainable fishing!
